Is God First...or Just Part of Your Routine?

If someone looked at your daily routine, would they know that God comes first?
Not by what you say.
By how you live.
It's easy to say God is our priority. As Christians, that's often our automatic answer.
But priorities aren't revealed by words alone. They're revealed by how we spend our time, where our attention goes, and what consistently comes first in our lives.
Many of us begin our mornings by checking our phones before we say a single prayer.
We scroll through social media before opening our Bible.
We make time for meetings, errands, work, and entertainment, yet sometimes the first thing to be pushed aside is our time with God.
None of those things are wrong in themselves.
The question is whether they've quietly taken first place.
Jesus didn't tell us to fit God's kingdom into our schedule whenever we had time.
He said to seek it first.
That doesn't mean every moment of every day is spent reading Scripture or praying.
It means God becomes the foundation for everything else.
When we seek Him first, our decisions are guided by His wisdom.
Our relationships are shaped by His love.
Our work is done with integrity.
Our challenges are faced with faith instead of fear.
Putting God first isn't about perfection.
It's about intention.
There will be busy days.
Unexpected interruptions.
Seasons that stretch us.
But even then, we can choose to pause, pray, and invite God into every part of our lives instead of giving Him whatever time happens to be left over.
The truth is, whatever consistently receives our first attention often reveals what holds first place in our hearts.
Jesus isn't asking to be one part of our lives.
He's asking to be at the center of it.
When He is, everything else begins to fall into its proper place.
